Major General George B. Patrick III, Senior Consultant to The Rhoads Group, brings an unmatched wealth of insight into the operations, programs, and realities of the United States Air Force, Air National Guard, and Department of Defense. Recently retired after almost 35 years of commissioned service, General Patrick brings a wealth of joint DoD, Air Force, and multi-national Coalition operations experience to the table. His last assignment was in the Pentagon as Special Assistant to the Director, Air National Guard and Air National Guard Advisor to the Chief of Staff, U.S. Air Force. General Patrick’s career -- both military and civilian -- has taken him from the front lines of combat to the back offices of business, and most places in between. Prior to his final assignment on the Air Staff, the General served as the Assistant Adjutant General Air, South Carolina Air National Guard, McEntire Joint National Guard Base. The General received his commission as a Second Lieutenant through the Air Force Reserve Officer Training Corps in 1973 and was awarded the Legion of Valor for Achievement upon selection as the national AFROTC Cadet of the Year. He has served extensively throughout the Department of Defense to include Director, Desert Shield Contingency Support Staff; Special Assistant to the ANG Director of Operations; United States Air Forces Europe Deployments Branch; and Air Guard Advisor to the Commander, 9th Air Force. In addition, the General’s contingency assignments include Battle Commander in support of Operation Noble Eagle; deployed Air Expeditionary Wing Commander in support of Operation Enduring Freedom; and Central Command (CENTCOM) Chief of Staff in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom. An F-16 pilot, the General is a Command Pilot with more than 3,000 flying hours and is a decorated combat veteran of Operation Desert Storm. His military decorations include the Legion of Merit, Distinguished Flying Cross, Bronze Star, Defense Meritorious Service Medal, Meritorious Service Medal, and Air Medal with 3 devices. General Patrick served on numerous boards to include Chairman of the Air Reserve Forces Policy Committee; National Guard Association of the U.S. (NGAUS) Fighter/Bomber Task Force; and the Sourthern Region Airspace Council. In addition, the General was the U.S. Air Force Principal to the Southeast Regional Partnership for Planning and Sustainability (SERPPAS) and continues to be active in this dynamic OSD initiative as the Executive Coordinator of the S.C. Military Base Task Force. A native of South Carolina, General Patrick is an honor graduate of the University of South Carolina School of Business, the Air Command and Staff College, the Air War College, and was a CAPSTONE Fellow. In his civilian life, the General is an accomplished agribusiness executive and restaurant owner with over 25 years of business experience.
